NBTA student Michelle Larcher de Brito will be playing in her first career Grand Slam qualifying draw beginning tomorrow at Wimbledon.
She will face eighth-seeded Stephanie Foretz of France in the first round. Larcher de Brito, who is only 15 years old, got into the draw based on her own ranking of #229 in the world.
Earlier this year Larcher de Brito won two rounds at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, beating Agnieszka Radwanska, before falling to Shahar Peer.
Nick said, “This is a great accomplishment for Michelle, and is the first step in what should be a fantastic career! We are looking forward to many more grand slam appearances for her in the future! Good luck and congrats again!”
